Zatamil 0.1% Hydrogel

Zatamil hydrogel is the only mometasone furoate hydrogel+ available in Australia designed for fast action to treat moderate forms of steroid responsive dermatoses, including psoriasis and eczema. It's hydrogel formula is compiled of hydrophillic polymers that swell with water without their structure dissolving1, resulting in greater contact time and reduced transedpidermal water loss vs ointments, whilst allowing for optimised drug delivery of actives to the skin, such as topical corticosteroids2. It's non-greasy texture contains moisturising properties to reduce scaling and dryness without the residue. The hydrogel mometasone formulation has shown to be as efficacious as an ointment mometasone furoate with an anti-inflammatory response similar at 24 hours^,3,4. Active (w/w) - Mometasone furoate 0.1%.

Zatamil hydrogel is the only mometasone hydrogel+ available in Australia. Designed for fast action. Shown to be as efficacious as an ointment with an anti-inflammatory response similar at 24 hours^,3,4. Non-greasy, no sticky risude allows easy aborption into the skin, cosmetic acceptability and patient satisifcation. Hydrogel format offers a cool, relieving effect. Equivalent side effect profile to OTC hydrocortisone 1.0%5. Suitable for adults and children from 7 months of age under supervision. Available without a prescription as Pharmacist only and by prescription.
Apply a thin film of zatamil hydrogel to the affected skin area once daily. Up to 4 weeks’ continuous treatment. Be cautious when prescribing long-term for children.
For external use only. Do not use: In or around the eyes For acne On broken skin or skin infections (e.g. cold sores, shingles, thrush, tinea) If you are sensitive to any corticosteroids. Unless a doctor has told you to, do not use: On the face, large areas of the skin, or areas that rub together Under a bandage, dressing, nappies or plastic pants For more than 7 days If you are pregnant or breastfeeding For children under 12 years old. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and seek medical advice. Seek medical advice if there is no improvement in symptoms after using for 1 week.
For treatment of psoriasis in the hair line consider conjuctive treatment with Sebitar. A mild scalp cleanser formulated with pine tar relieves itch and reduces inflammation, salicylic acid removes scales and dead skin, and gentle surfactants helps prevent the hair and scalp becoming excessively dry. For the treatment of mild to moderarte eczema consider conjuctive emollient use with the QV Dermcare Eczema Daily range. Clinically tested to repair the skin barrier and relieve associated symptoms.
