Ego Pharmaceuticals with Digital Jobs program leads to new career opportunity for Swati

Ego Pharmaceuticals has gained access to a new pool of talent to build its digital marketing capability through the Victorian Government’s Digital Jobs program.

The program is helping to train and upskill mid-career Victorians so they can transition into digital careers. Participants complete 12 weeks of industry-backed training, and have the opportunity to apply their new digital skills in a 12-week digital job placement with a Victorian business.

Thanks to the Digital Jobs program Ego found Swati, who was able to upskill in an RMIT Online course for Marketing Analytics and Insights and complete an internship with the business.

“I emerged a hundred percent motivated to give my best to the company. And I did that,” said Swati.

In fact, Swati adapted so well during her internship that Ego has extended her contract.

She now takes on most of the reporting duties, which has freed up other team members to work on the advanced analytics program that helped the team, and the business, to grow.

Glenn Watson, Ego’s Global Digital Capabilities and Analytics Manager, said that the experience has been a win/win for the business, Ego’s digital team, and for Swati as well.

“At the end of the program, there was a great feel-good community aspect knowing we’d helped someone displaced by COVID or wanting career changes… It is a global company but also a family business, so that was really important to our leadership team, and of course there was a really tangible commercial benefit too,” said Glenn.

Following on from the success with Swati, Ego is currently hosting two more Digital Specialist intakes through the Digital Jobs program to help with the company’s digital marketing capability in the ANZ and Asia regions.
