Earlier this year, the second annual Dandelion Wishes Gala was held at the Palladium at Crown. The event was founded by Lincoln and Veronique Wulff after their fourth and fifth children were born premature at Monash Children’s Hospital.
Funds raised during the gala go towards purchasing high tech transportation cots that take high-needs babies from birthing suites to the neonatal intensive care unit. These cots help reduce the risk of babies developing chronic lung disease due to premature birth. The funds also go towards bedside patient entertainment and education systems to provide a welcome distraction for children. This allows them to access activities, TV programs, movies, games, education programs and communication tools to stay in touch with family, friends and their school.
With nearly 600 attendees on the night, the gala was a huge success and raised more than $420,000 to support to the Monash Children’s Hospital.
The Monash Children’s Hospital which is spread across three sites, now services thousands of families across Victoria. They admit around 40,000 children per year into their wards and neonatal units, as well as providing 70,000 occasions of outpatient care. They are Victoria’s largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and provide leading paediatric services in Rehabilitation, Oncology, Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and Palliative Care.
The night, hosted by Tony Jones and Livinia Nixon was filled with live entertainment, fabulous catering, inspirational presentations, live and online auctions. Ego Pharmaceuticals were proud to have supported such a great event.
Congratulations to all the dedicated and passionate committee members for all their hard work in organising this successful event!
