Can EgoDerm Ointment used for Eczema on lips and surrounding areas.

  • Ego Pharmaceuticals May 29 ,2016 at 11:41 pm

    Hi Gayathri,

The Egoderm Ointment is suitable for use on sensitive areas of skin such as the face. It can be applied around the mouth, however we have not studied the effects of applying it to the lips, and would caution against this.

    Many thanks,
    The Ego Team

Is the ergoderm ointment safe to use while breastfeeding? Thank you

  • Ego Pharmaceuticals May 12 ,2016 at 11:59 pm

    Hi Erin,
Egoderm Ointment contains the active ingredient ichthammol, on which there is no known data concerning excretion into breast milk. Considering this, we caution to avoid using the Egoderm Ointment whilst breastfeeding.

    Many thanks,
    The Ego Team

    Hi Aimee,

Both solutions will help reduce inflammation and red, itchy rashes. The cream will help soothe and hydrate dry skin, while the ointment is an occlusive that will help act as a barrier if your skin is feeling tender and damaged (rather than just dry).

    Kind Regards,
    The Ego Team.
