According to the Australian therapeutic guidelines, first-line treatment to scalp psoriasis and eczema involves a moderate topical corticosteroid1,2 with anti-inflammatory and antimitotic properities to reduce inflammation, redness and block cell growth1. Zatamil Lotion is a potent strength topical corticosteroid for the treatment of moderate forms of steroid responsive dermatoses, including psoriasis and eczema. Active (w/w) - Mometasone furoate 0.1%.
Designed for scalp and hirsute areas. Dropper bottle for easy application . Clinically shown to improve 85% scalp psoriasis symptoms at 3 weeks3^. Suitable for adults and children from 7 months of age under supervision. Zatamil lotion is preservative free. Equivalent side effect profile to OTC hydrocortisone 1.0%4. Available on PBS.
Apply a few drops of zatamil lotion to affected skin areas including scalp sites once daily; massage gently and thoroughly until the medication disappears. Up to 4 weeks’ continuous treatment. Be cautious when prescribing long-term for children.
For external use only. Keep away from eyes.
For treatment of psoriasis in the hair line consider conjuctive treatment with Sebitar. A mild scalp cleanser formulated with pine tar relieves itch and reduces inflammation, salicylic acid removes scales and dead skin, and gentle surfactants helps prevent the hair and scalp becoming excessively dry. For the treatment of mild to moderarte eczema consider conjuctive emollient use with the QV Dermcare Eczema Daily range. Clinically tested to repair the skin barrier and relieve associated symptoms.
