Skin IQ (5 of 10) – Does chocolate cause acne?November 30, 2011
This is a commonly held myth, that chocolate, or other fatty foods, can cause acne.
In fact recent research indicates that there is more likely a link between dairy intake and a diet high in Glycaemic Index (GI) foods which may worsen acne.1,2,3,4 Hi GI foods include white bread, white rice and foods high in glucose.1 Adebamowo CA, Spiegelman D, Danby FW, Frazier AL, Willett WC, Holmes MD.
