Remember Your Mammogram Afternoon TeaNovember 6, 2015
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in Australia with increasing age being one of the strongest risk factors for developing breast cancer.1
Improvements in survival are attributed to earlier detection of breast cancer through regular mammograms and improved treatment outcomes for breast cancer.
Remember Your Mammogram is a social group dedicated to reminding and encouraging women to get their mammograms. On the 25th October 2015, Remember Your Mammogram held their second annual afternoon tea to raise funds for Pink Ribbon Foundation. It was a fun and relaxed afternoon at the Longbeach Hotel in Chelsea, where people united to celebrate life. With various musical performances and even a hair shaving show, the event was a hit.
Last year they were able to raise $600. This time, the afternoon tea managed to raise more than triple that – a huge $2193.65! Congratulations to the Remember Your Mammogram team on such a great achievement.
Mammograms are free for women aged 50-74, have you had yours? Asking about a mammogram could save a life. For more information visit www.breastscreen.org.au/Home
