Ego Announces Ego Pharmaceuticals Taiwan Pty LtdJuly 18, 2016
Australian skincare company Ego Pharmaceuticals Pty Ltd announces the arrival of Ego Pharmaceuticals Taiwan Pty Ltd or 台灣意高藥品有限公司.
Ego first began trading to Taiwan 15 years ago through a local distributor. Three years ago it took steps to change its business model to have Ego staff run sales and marketing in Taiwan, which proving successful led to the creation of a team of 20 people, all now official employees of Ego Taiwan, owned by Ego Australia.
The move enables Ego to improve the skin health of even more consumers across the world, with a population of 23 million living in the East Asian island.
Ego sales in Taiwan have doubled each year over the last two years and are forecasted to increase significantly with the formation of the new company.
Ego Pharmaceuticals’ Managing Director Alan Oppenheim explained that creating aTaiwan based arm of the group will enable Ego to work directly and closer with local customers including dermatologists.
“Ego exists to help people restore and maintain skin health and having our own team of local staff means we can work even more closely with the local community” said Mr Oppenheim.
“We have built a strong foundation in Taiwan over the last 15 years and creating a local company will enable us to continue to further extend our reach to the people of Taiwan” added Mr Oppenheim.
Founded in 1953, Ego is highly respected in Australia for its quality therapeutic skincare products that assist people with skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. Ego also has a vast range of everyday skincare products to improve and maintain healthy skin including QV Skincare, Pinetarsol, Egoderm, MOOV Insect Repellent and SunSense sunscreen.
2016 has proven to be an exciting year for Ego, which has also seen the opening of a new $15 million manufacturing extension to its Braeside plant, enabling the company to double its bottle filling capacity.
All Ego products are made in its world class manufacturing facilities in Melbourne, Australia.
The Ego Taiwan Team recently moved to a larger office in Taipei, as it continues to expand and grow in the region.
