Ego Pharmaceuticals Showcased at Victorian Manufacturing Networking Workshop 2015October 31, 2015
Scientific & Operations Director at Ego Pharmaceuticals, Dr Jane Oppenheim, presented and appeared as a guest panelist at the Victorian Manufacturing Networking Workshop on 27th October 2015.
With a focus on industry and jobs for the future, the event was hosted by the Victorian Government and the Industry Capability Network and held at the Chisholm Institute training college in Dandenong. There were approximately 200 local business representatives from the Dandenong and Doveton area in Victoria in attendance, who had the chance to discuss and hear about innovation and creative use of new technology to support industry and job growth in the region.
Ego Pharmaceuticals was showcased as a local manufacturing business that provides skincare products to Australia and the world. The company has had a rapid 12.5% growth year on year for the past 30 of the 60 plus years in operation, which doesn’t look to be slowing in the near future.
Dr Oppenheim is charged with overseeing the infrastructure for this growth and acknowledged her extensive team of local scientists and engineers that have been helping to build and plan infrastructure at the manufacturing plant currently based in Braeside. Ego Pharmaceuticals Flammable Goods Manufacturing expansion project is only one part of the larger plan, and it is now past the half way mark of development with the completion date on target for early 2016. This expansion project will enable Ego to support the increasing demand of products like Aqium Hand Sanitiser and the Moov Head Lice range as the business continues to grow.
Further to this the company is forward planning with the announcement last week that they have commenced construction of a new Global Headquarters in Melbourne, as part of a $135 million expansion plan for the Victorian business.
The event was opened by the Minister for Industry, the Hon. Lily D’Ambrosio MP and convened by Mr Gerry Ryan OAM, Chairman of Jayco Corporation.
