Ego awarded as leader in health and biotechnology exports from Victoria to the WorldOctober 7, 2015
Ego Pharmaceuticals has been awarded the 2015 Governor of Victoria Export Health and Biotechnology Award for outstanding international success in healthcare, presented at Government House on the 30th of September.
Export makes up 34 percent of the company’s total net sales; Ego began exporting in 1962 and now exports to 25 nations. Each market is researched in depth and marketing is strategically planned for sustained, long term growth – a formula that is proving successful.
Ego’s Managing Director, Alan Oppenheim said investing in export growth has been a huge success factor for the company and enables Ego to reinvest in infrastructure and innovation in Australia for the long term.
“This award is testament to the hard work and tenacity of our staff in Victoria and Australia along with our 120 staff internationally, who are driving our export and building a strong reputation with healthcare professionals and our customers worldwide.
“Our approach to our export business has always been strategic, as we reinvest profit into our Australian manufacturing projects to increase our efficiencies and output” said Mr Oppenheim
The company has experienced year on year growth since exception, with international markets posting an increase of 30 per cent last financial year.
