My eczema on my fingers has some puss. Can I apply Ego DermAid 0.5% on the puss or just around it on the dry areas only? Appreciate your urgent reply. Thanks

  • Ego Pharmaceuticals Nov 02 ,2016 at 11:29 pm

    Hi John,

DermAid may be used to treat mild to moderately inflamed skin conditions. If there is pus present in your eczema, it would be advisable to consult your doctor for treatment of what is most likely an infection, rather than applying DermAid to this area of skin. Once the infection has been treated, you can again use the DermAid.

    Many thanks,
    The Ego Team

Hi my names Annalise! And ive been suffering from eczema since i was 5 and am now 18. Recently for the past 2 weeks my scalp has been very itchy and is now irritated and burning, everytime i wash my hair and use a shampoo that is suitable for an irritated scalp. If i applied ego dermaid 0.5 to my scalp would it help?!?

Hi, recently I have switched from the 0.5% to the 1% after my rash had redeveloped (mainly around the eye area), but when I apply the 1% around the eye area a burning sensation begins, lasting for a minute at max, should I be wary of this ? Also may I ask whether using a Sorbolene moisturiser is suitable, previously using it I felt like the Sorbolene enhanced my rashes/ lumps, but lately my skin has been drying out, thank you in advance.

  • Ego Pharmaceuticals Nov 05 ,2015 at 6:07 am

    Hi Anna,

We would advise you discontinue use of the DermAid Soft 1% if the burning sensation persists and contact Customer Service so that we may follow up on. Customer Service can also recommend moisturisers for sensitive skin as an alternative to sorbolene cream to assist with skin dryness. Our Customer Service team can be contacted on 1800 033 706 or CustomerService@egopharm.com

    Kind Regards,
    The Ego Team
